Bootable CD with command prompt on the hard drive after reboot.
Feb 3rd, 2009 at 9:18am

I am behind the 8 ball on this since i came in after Windows 98. I followed Nightowl's "how to create a bootable CD" but replaced Ghost.exe with wipe.bat which runs gdisk on both drives. Everything works fine but the repair tech asked for a command prompt on the hard drives after reboot which i have not bee able to do. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks for your time.

Johnny Five says, "MORE INPUT!"

What computer, what drives, what OS's, what disk format?

When you ask a question like that, you MUST tell us all about your PC.

From what you said, all I could say would be if you're trying to get a DOS prompt on a Windows XP or Vista disk, it ain't a gonna happen!!!!

The disks (HD's) are automatically formatted in NTFS format and DOS can't even see them.
DOS could see a '98 or ME drive, but not on XP which came out on NTFS drives.

More info may clear up the cobwebs...... Wink

Cool
