Problems imaging with Ghost
Jul 21st, 2009 at 9:25am

We've been using Ghost for some time now in our environment to do desktop imaging. With each new device that comes out I seem to have more and more problems.

I have created a new image on the host computer. I syspreped the device and now am attempting to place that image on my USB hard drive.

I have a Toshiba 400GIG bootable USB hard drive with Ghost 2003. The problem is this. I boot the computer and it opens Ghost. Local/Disk/To Image
When  do this I won't see the Hard drive that it just booted from so I can't create the image.

Now here is the funny part. If I back out and go to Local/Disk/From Image, it then sees the hard drive and all the files.

What am I missing? How do I get around this? I thought maybe a driver for the USB hard drive but like I said depending on the option I choose it sees the drive. Could it be a setting on the hoast computer?

With this example the Host computer is a Dell GX755 with a VPro chip

Regards

Dirk

you might try not using sysprep.  i avoid sysprep if at all possible.
