bootable CD for XP
Aug 18th, 2009 at 4:07am

I have looked at the methos of creating a bootable CD for windows 98? Can someone tell me how to do the same for XP? The boot from floppy contains only BOOT.INI, NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM files, using a CD burner with 'marked as bootable' does not do the trick!

So, you have created the WinXP boot floppy similar to the method outlined here:  How To Create a Boot Disk for an NTFS or FAT Partition in Windows XP?

And, you can boot using that floppy disk to WinXP?

But, if you use that floppy disk in your CD burning program, it will not correctly convert the bootable floppy information into a bootable optical disc?

Is that all correct?  Where exactly are you running into a *stumbling block*--any informational or error messages popping up?
