Extract audio from music DVD to CD/MP3
Dec 3rd, 2009 at 12:55am

I have been using LAME and EAC for some time now to backup my CD collection to FLAC.  Works beautifully and thanks for the great guides.

I have some music DVDs that I would like to extract the audio from and burn to CD/SD Card.  Is there some software/freeware that can do this for me.  Format could be WAV, MP3, or FLAC??

I did not know about music DVDs. Which shows I've been out of the audio loop for a while.

What encoding format do music DVDs use? MPEG-4?

Or are you simply talking about the music component of a movie DVD?

Once you get the audio off the DVD and onto the hard drive, it would seems a simple case or converting it to whatever format you prefer, and burning.

Are you familiar with backing-up DVDs?

Rad,

I am simply seeking to extract the audio component from the music DVD and be able to store it so as to play it on my CD player.  I am unsure what encdoing is used on DVD audio.

I have never tried to back-up any of my DVD.
