Unable to boot from latest G14 image
Aug 5th, 2011 at 10:13pm

I work for a small public school district. I have used Ghost 14 for the past 2 or 3 yrs to reimage classroom PCs each summer, and as needed.  Today I created a fresh image and used it to reimage a dozen PCs.  All same make, model & HDD.  When I reinstalled the HDDs, none will boot: "Attempting to boot from HD C:" followed by a flashing cursor. BUT, if I put the HDDs into another model of PC, they WILL boot.  I reimaged these same HDDs in these same PC's last summer, no problem, so I used that image to reimage one of the HDDs, but got the same result.

Details:  PCs are HP d325, HDDs are PATA/133 Maxtor 40GB. Ghost v14.

Ideas?  Thanks.

image to reimage

I'm having trouble understanding your terminology. Could you use "create an image" and "restore an image" and we'll be on the same wavelength? Thanks.

Was the image from a HP d325 computer? Was the HD mounted internally when you created the image? What was the target for the image? A USB External HD?

You restored the image to a dozen computers. Where were the dozen HDs when you restored the image? Were the HDs mounted in a USB external case?

What brand of computer is this?

You have a geometry issue!
