Recover Linux machine to 2nd hard drive

Hi All
Im using ghosy ver 15
Basically I have taken an image of the 4 partitions of a linux machine and I am now on a windows machine xp and want to recover these partitions (the linux machine) to this hard drive and use it later to boot into linux.
I am using the advanced recover drive wizard and pointing these partiions 1 at a time to the 2nd hard drive but this dosent seem to work!
After the 1st partition has completed the drive is reported as unavailable thus preventing me recovering the other partitions!
I have tried the custom recovery wizard also to no avail.
does anyone habe a hint as to which steps to take? at the moment I am using the custm recovery.
Thanks for reading.

what is the state of the new/destination drive? blank? unformatted?
what about if you first partition and format the new drive so that it resembles the old/source drive?
i suspect the 1st partition is taking up/consuming the entire drive.

How did you do this with Ghost 15? Just interested as I can think of several variants.

I took the hdd out of the linux box plugged it into my laptop and used norton to make an image of that hdd.
I want to run this in virtual box. In virtual box i have 1 hdd to run windows and with it norton and on the 2nd hdd i intend this as the destination drive to deploy the image.
I have tried the once of convert to virtual option under tasks but no joy. It tries to run but then cannot convert image.

I've only used Virtual Box a few times but if you would like to restore your images I suggest this method with use of the Edit button...
