	how to create norton ghost 12 bootable disk Sep 10^th, 2012 at 8:36pm Dear All, I'm new in here i have question how can i create norton ghost 12 bootable disk to make a cd able to do backup hardisk to image, or restore from image to hard disk. but i can't found any ghost.exe in the install only can get ghost32.exe

Put ghost32.exe on a USB flash drive and boot from any WinPE CD. Browse to ghost32.exe after the WinPE loads.

Thank you.! so the onlywy is using winpe to create a bootable and copy the ghost32.exe into the folder it is , is there any tutorial or guide in here to create with ghost32.exe

This works.

Boot from a 32 bit Win7 DVD
On the Install now window, click Repair your computer
After the search completes, click Load Drivers
click OK on Add drivers (but move Add Drivers window to the very edge of your monitor before clicking OK)
plug in your USB flash drive
double click Computer
Navigate to ghost32.exe on the flash drive. ghost32.exe will be Application Type. Right click ghost32 (the Application) and choose Run as administrator.
click Cancel on the "Open" window
click Cancel on the "Add Drivers" window
Close (click the X) "System Recovery Options"
Minimize "Install now"

ghost32.exe is now ready to use. You may have to drag the title bar to make it fit the screen better.

I didn't recall that ghost32.exe was on Ghost 12. Still allows for creating a backup from the Recovery Environment of the Ghost boot disc (or from other sources for the WinPE) like first discovered for Ghost 10, and not crippled so you can only do restores like on Ghost 9?

Is that the last year ghost32.exe was included--or is it on Ghost 14 and beyond?

To be clear--ghost32.exe does not create Ghost 12 backups. Ghost32.exe creates Ghost backups that have the *.gho* and *.ghs* extensions--and that file format is completely different than the Windows based consumer versions of Ghost 9, 10, 12, 14, .....etc.

*.gho* and *.ghs* extensions were last used by the consumer version Ghost 2003, and continues to be used by the Corporate versions of Ghost.

Ghost32.exe was first created for the Corporate version 8.xx of Ghost. It has been included on Ghost 9 (crippled--only can restore *.gho* and *.ghs* files), Ghost 10 (allows both creation and restores of *.gho* and *.ghs* files--but you can not create the files to optical media), and apparently also included with Ghost 12 per Brian above. This inclusion was there so folks who had previously used consumer versions of Ghost 2003 and earlier could still access their Ghost backup images that had used the *.gho* and *.ghs* extensions.

ok let me double check i will install the ghost cd version 14, since i had the ghost 14 CD.
Sorry to inform that yes, norton ghost 14 without ghost32.exe or ghost.exe.
Is there any method to create a bootable cdroom. /usb flash (pendrive)
