New Windows 8--I'm now 3 versions behind

To all

The new version (s) ? of Windows has been released.

That puts me 3 versions behind now--somehow I just haven't seen *new* features I just can't live without--anybody know what I'm missing--I really don't have *touch screen* monitors-----?

Here's a primer on the different flavors--if you haven't been keeping up with what's new: Win8 vs. Windows RT: What to know before you buy.

I think you also need to make choices about basic home versions, vs Pro vs Ultimate versions as well!

	Re: New Windows 8--I'm now 3 versions behind Reply #1 - Oct 26^th, 2012 at 3:57pm @ NightOwl WinXP is still my main OS too, although I'm multi-booting Win7 and Win8. I'm going to build a new computer next month and I'll make Win8 my main OS. I like it. It feels even "snappier" than Win7.

	Re: New Windows 8--I'm now 3 versions behind Reply #2 - Oct 29^th, 2012 at 9:39am I still use Windows 98, dual booting with XP using the Gdisk32 aproach, which uses the Microsoft boot loader, while maintaining OS independence. Since installing D-fend Reloaded to run my old Dos favourites on my laptop however, the 14 year old desktop has been increasingly side lined.

Friends have a Dell W7 laptop that I like, tho it sometimes takes me a while to find my way around when they ask for help with certain things. I heard bad stuff about Vista. W8 does have some cool commercials, you must admit.

Skipped over Vista... don't need the stress. Playing around with Win7Pro... Probably will try Win8Pro next. --------------------- I stuck with 98SE for so long... went right to XP Pro.
