Terabyte "ifl_nonet_en_gui" or "ifl_nonet_en_gui_x64"

I went to Terabyte to check for new versions and found that "ifl_nonet_en_gui" now has a 64-bit companion, "ifl_nonet_en_gui_x64".

What is the difference between the two? Has it anything to do with the system which is to be imaged?

If that is not the case, does it matter which one I use to create the bootable USB-device?

Use which ever one you like. I use x64.

In 2015 TeraByte Support wrote...

"note that the x64 version shouldn't normally be used since the UI uses frame
buffer mode which is slower. It's there for systems that require x2apci
support since the x32 kernel option didn't seem to work."

x64 must have matured as it's now the default IFL in "C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\IFL"

You can install either 686 or x64 IFL in a 64-bit Linux OS.
