Oh yeah, I'm busy.

Yeah, I read about that.  Not sure how I feel about it.  Older browsers are for sure a problem.  It is just asking for trouble to try to do financial transactions with a browser like IE 5.0, so I agree that users need to be protected from themselves there.

Unfortunately, I remember several studies I read that said that users typically don't get any benefit out of the anti-phishing features of browsers because they don't pay attention to them.  I can really blame them considering the number of false positive security warnings someone using IE 7 on Vista sees during a day.

So, I'm not sure how much it will really protect people to block the newest versions of Safari, but as one of the biggest targets in the world of phishing scams, PayPal has to do what they can.  They really go out of their way to make their customer's experience safe, and sometimes that means a slight inconvience for a few (most Mac) users.  Not sure why anyone uses that browser anyway.  I like FireFox way better.  Then again, I'm not a big fan of Macs and some people really really love them, so each to their own I guess.  ...except maybe when its for the safety of  your money and your identity.

I have a Paypal account, only for donations, and must say I've been impressed with what I've seen. The site is never down. Everything is spelled out in idiot-proof detail, and when I request a transfer of funds, they're transferred. Can't complain. Tho I have received tons of mail from people trying to phish my Paypal acct info.

If the mail is really from Paypal, they know my name and address me thusly.

I eventually disabled my Paypal-email, so sometimes it's a while b4 I learn of donations.
