What do you guys think about the 1st generation seagate cheetah drives?

Im looking to buy a used drive, for money reasons, and I see a lot of 9.1gig seagate cheetahs 10k for sale on ebay, but they are alway first generation.....any word on these drives?

thanks

i think 18 gb is the smallest. i can recommend the quantum/maxtor atlas 10k III. it's quiet, fast & reliable.

i also have the seagate cheetah x15-36lp, a 15krpm drive .. that doesn't cost that much more.

if cash is an issue, stick with ide drives. you don't want to skimp with scsi. wait until you can get good stuff.
