Jul 22nd, 2002 at 10:33am

i have ghost 2002 and a new adaptec external cdwr. i've installed the DOS drivers (which incidentally only let me use the external drive as a CDROM) but when i boot from the ghost floppy i can't even see the drive

any help is appreciated

i didn't know adaptec made burners.

is the drive listed on symantec's approved list of ghost-compatible devices?

what interface does drive use? i'm guessing usb, but that's a serial device, and you said parallel.

Adaptec? i'm sorry - i meant Amacom
the actual drive is made by phillips, and ghost sees it under windows (as does drive image) but not in DOS  Sad

DOS drivers for the driv are installed and i can see the drive i 'normal' DOS (although it shows as a cd rom only)

i edited the autoexec file on the ghost boot up floppy to include a line to the external drive and i added a copy of the config.sys file (which has a line specifying the device) but ghost still doesn't see it

i spoke to Amacom support and they couldn't see any reason why it shouldn't work with any ghosting software (although they haven't tested this)

** i'm using a parallel cable **

cheers for your help
