Hypothetical Drive failure

I have my Ghost image on my Sata enclosure drive. I even have my replacement drive which is a duplicate of my system drive. Now in the event that my C drive dies how do I get my new SATA drive ready to load my Ghost image? I use Ghost 2003.

You have everything already to do the *acid test*--remove your current system drive, put the replacement drive in the same place as the drive you have just removed.
Fire up Ghost 2003 the same way you did to create the image (from DOS boot floppy--right?). Do *Local > Disk > from Image* and restore the image data to the replacement HDD.
Once complete, remove the floppy boot disk, and re-boot the system. Did everything work?! (If not, you still have your original HDD to put back in and proceed with troubleshooting to see what needs fixin'.)
Continue using the *replacement* drive--or remove it and replace with the original system drive--put the extra away for when needed--you can simply restore whatever is your current image to the extra drive when needed--it will overwrite anything that was on it at that time.
No question is stupid...but, possibly the answers are
!

Doesn't the new drive need to be formated ?
