Hi Guys...OK I've re & re'd the Ext.Hdd. to 2 Log. partitions in an Extended.
Checked the drives out again with the Ghost utility prog. and they are now all clear.
I should add though, that I could see one of the partitions on the Ext. Hdd. at all times, the one with normal data on it .
The one with the Ghost images, didn't show...
The Images were always on the Ext. Hdd, I never moved them so there was no need to look elsewhere...
The only thing that gels now, as far as I'm concerned is the error that showed on the Hdd. was on the Ghost Image partition...
All I have left to do now is Boot to the R.E after I do a back-up to the Ext. hdd. I think that should more or less prove something, don't you think... Later, Dave

Well I've done the back-up test and it's.... BINGO !
All drives are coming thru loud and clear, especially the one with the Ghost image on it. The other partition is there also.
I guess the prob. all along was a Part. error, as it shows some in the Event Log.
So, Thank you guys, very much for all your help in solving this problem.
Really appreciate it... Dave

That's really good news, Dave. You have certainly done some exciting things in the last few weeks and it's been a great experience for all.

Brian, As long as I've got your attention, can you explain to me the CS ( cable select) jumper on a harddrive.
I understand the others but not the CS...
And Is there any reason that I can't remove the Harddrive from an Ext.Case and install inside the PC.
I notice on my 250gb Maxtor that the Power connection plug is customized to the case board, presenting a problem in using the PC power cable.
Apart from that though, any reason...thanks...Dave

End connector= Master. Middle connector= Slave.
I've only used external cases where you can install your own IDE or SATA HD. I've never looked inside a purpose built Maxtor case.

Thanks Brian,,, Never realised there was so much to the CS thing ! interesting, but I don't see any real benefit to it.
Thanks again...Dave
