How important is this chkdsk thing?

I have a warning in ghost 2003 that asks me to flush by running a chkdsk, this pops up just before I begin to write to CD. Is this really important to do even though it lets me continue?

If you take an image of a drive that has errors on it, then the image will not be as reliable.  ScanDisk is easy enough to run.  It is usually located under Start->Program Files->Accessories->System Tools.  You can also get to it by right clicking on your hard drive in My Computer, choose Properties, then go to the Tools tab.
