Ghost 8 1st Span 2 GB then all other 4 MB - Help!
Jun 12th, 2006 at 12:39pm

Hello:

When I am creating an image of 3.8 GB it creates the first span correctly at 2 GB then afterwards every other span is only 4 MB and eventually it fails.  Any ideas?  Booting from a DOS disk.  Tried all the usual switches, -split=1000 -auto, etc., but it always does the same thing.  The first split/span works but all others are 4 MB.   Ghost 8.0 running on W2K3 server, XP image on Dell laptop over the network.  No problem restoring image, just creating.  Anyone ever see this before?

I'm guessing the problem is likely in the *network* set up--some incompatibility.

Not too many folks here have *network* experience--especially in DOS (including me)--there are a lot of variables--but, someone may come along.

Could try saving to another internal or external HDD that's non-networked--does that work successfully?

This tutorial may offer some helpful hints for setting up a boot disk for a Ghost 8 network--it's a how to for a bootable optical disc--but, may have info that applies to your situation:
