Bootable CD w/ peer to peer usb support?
Sep 30th, 2006 at 1:00pm

Have a sata HD w/usb mouse & keyboard and NO Floppy drive.

Having solved probs with usb Mouse/keyboard and SATA drives in the past by using a boot disc with peer to peer usb support,  I am now faced with a dilema....no floppy..so

Anyone know how to make a bootable CD with peer to peer usb support? (using ghost 2003) as this is not an option when booting from the ghost 2003 CD itself.

I have seen night owls bootable cd thread.....but how to add this extra support?

Thanks,

Niel

Do you still have your floppy boot disk with the peer-to-peer USB support--you can simply copy those files from there to the list of files in the Guide:
Creating Bootable CD/DVD's Without A:\Floppy Drive

So you add these two lines to the *config.sys* file:

device=uhci.exe
device=ohci.exe

and add the two files, *uhci.exe* and *ohci.exe* to the list of files to include in the boot sector.

Adding those files may make the boot sector of 1.44 MB too big if *ghost.exe* is included too--so you may have to place *ghost.exe* on the data portion of the CD and not the boot sector--this is discussed for USB DOS support on the bootable optical media here:
Adding USB to Ghost Boot CD

Report back with the results of your efforts--or additional questions.

some useful information

but you still need a friend with a machine with a floppy drive and Nero software.
