El_Pescador, concerning Reply #11, there is a critical unknown:  do we actually have evidence that Ghost 8.2 works properly to backup and restore a PC with Windows Vista?

I gather Ghost 8.3 has problems restoring a Vista image. Ghost 11 (part of Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.0) was released to fix this problem.

I must plead ignorance here in regard to both Ghost 8.3 and Ghost 11.  Are they "cold-imaging" products like Norton Ghost Ver 8.2 or are they "hot-imaging" products like Norton Ghost 10.0 and Norton Save & Restore?

EP,

All are "cold imaging". They are the same corporate family of Ghost 8, 8.2, 8.3, 11.

I think that is the correct order.

WOW - if such is the case, then I certainly hope Symantec supplies a Vista-compatible "cold-imaging" analog to RESTOREGHOST.EXE in their Norton consumer products downstream Shocked
