MrMagoo, I agree with Nbree that Symantec has made exceptional improvements in Norton Internet Security since 2005; and, in particular, the 2007 — and now the 2008 — versions are far from being “resource heavy”, and are independently reviewed as being as good as (and typically better than) “other solutions.”

I have been using NIS 2008 for about a month, and am quite pleased.  I would highly recommend this security suite.
