Ghost 8.3 -vs- Solution Suite 2.0 Help needed Here. Thanks.

Again a Newbie here, but I would like to know this:

1.: I gather that Ghost Solution Suite 1.1 provided Ghost 8.3 and  I hear that 8.3 was the last true DOS base version of Ghost.

2.: Yet  I hear that Ghost Solution Suite 2.0 or 2.0.1 includes a DOS executable. Is this true and if so, what is the difference between 8.3 Dos based and the DOS executable of GSS 2.0?

I have been looking the better part of the day for Ghost 8.3 without any success but I could easily get GSS 2.0. This really matters to me, because I plan to image my drives to a 750GB Sata drive formatted in NTFS and these images are -ir images. Can I do this with the DOS executable of GSS 2.0?

If not, where in the world can I get Ghost 8.3?

I have v2003.793 of Ghost 2003 but cannot image to an NTFS drive...

THanks.

Frank.

Ghost 8.3 was the version included with Ghost Solution Suite (GSS) 1.1.  When GSS 2.x came out, GSS 1.x was no longer marketed by Symantec--but still supported.

Ghost 11.x is the most recent version shipped with Ghost Solution Suite2.x--and is still the classic DOS version--but it's much larger in size now--does not fit on a floppy disk any longer, I don't think!

I can...what's the problem?!  Perhaps a SATA HDD?  The SATA controller has to be DOS compatible--there are some that are not--but there's often a BIOS setting for making it compatible with *legacy* DOS access.

No question is stupid ... but, possibly the answers are Wink !
