Backup to Blue Ray Drive
Jul 15th, 2008 at 9:54pm

I would like to backup my pc to disc using my Blue Ray drive, but when I select it as the destination in Norton Ghost 14.0, it ejects the blank disc and asks for another disc.

The drive is an LG GGW-H20L.  If there is another way to accomplish this, I would like to hear it as well.  I am currently backing up to another internal hard drive and a network hard drive on another PC.  Is there some way to burn the existing backup files from the backup hard drive to a blue ray disc(s)?  The drive to backup has 157GB used, so I doubt that it would fit onto one 50GB blueray disc, so there would have to be a way to split the image files???

Any help would be appreciated.

eveready,

You can use the Copy Recovery Point Wizard to split the image file you have on your HD into say 49 GB splits. (Whatever you know will fit on your Blue Ray disc) So you will need two discs. I'd expect you will have to split to a HD partition and burn later.

How large is the recovery point? You can increase the compression in that wizard too.
