Is there anyway to place a splash screen(logo pic) other than ghost stuff that can be seen while the ghost image is loading from a DVD image??

Actually, allowing Ghost to be rebranded with custom images and text is one of the features of the OEM kit version, which has been available since at least 7.0 if not earlier. You can use the OEM builds with the regular perpetual client licenses or with the special VAR licenses. The VAR licenses are priced at a level for customers doing serious volumes, though (I'm not sure of the exact levels but I'd suspect 10,00+) so they are only available by contacting the sales folks.
