Is is possible to create a CD or DVD that has the PS-DOS files on?

floppy much easier and more versatile.

buy internal floppy $ 10 - $ 20 or buy an external floppy usb drive.

the thing is, i already have a floppy drive on my old pc which i can use,
but with less and less PCs having no floppy drive, i was thinking if its possible to boot into PC-DOS using a CD.
now that i have learned to create images, i will be going around ghosting friends/family PCs, and most don't have floppy drives.

If i burnt the contents of a normal boot floppy into a CD and set the BIOS to see the CD-Drive first, would that work? has anyone tried it??

install g3

run g3

use the Ghost boot Wizard to create a  boot floppy  and then use nero to create a bootable CD from that floppy

Yup, that'll work.

Also, most new computers today have the ability to boot from several different media.

I've found the USB Floppy drive to work on almost all new computers.
I carry one with me on every call, just in case I might need it.

An alternative media for Ghost is a bootable flash drive.
A little program from HP makes that possible.

But why you're hung up on PC-DOS is beyond me. ??? Undecided
MS-Dos, like from Windows 98 or ME is much better.
And if you decide to use DOS utilities on your Ghost boot disk, like
FDISK or Format, or even Scandisk, Edit or whatever, they will run properly.  NOT so, if you're booting up in PC-DOS.
That OS is just too old to be of practical use for a tech.

Building a boot CD from a floppy, you're limited to the 1.44megs available from the DSHD floppy disk.
If, however, you build your boot disk on a bootable flash drive, you can install all sorts of little Utilities to make that boot disk much more useful.

I made my first bootable Flash Drive off of my Ghost 2003 boot floppy, then I added NTFS4DOS and several other Utilities that I might need.
Then using Nero, I burned that flash drive to a CD.

You can then add things like "Memtest86", HD testing utilities and anything else you might need.

Good Luck,

Hi,
firstly, thanks for all your replies.

To tell you the truth, i am new to ghost and my knowldge is very limited. I dont actually know for sure what PC-DOS is. i only mentioned it as i read it in the Ghost Radified Guide. my guess is that it is the environment where ghost.exe can be loaded. and i certainlty dont know the difference between PC-DOS and MS-DOS.

Let me re-phrase my question again and tell you exactly what i want to do.

i have taken an image of a friend's HDD. i now want to test it and see if i can load it back to a spare HDD which he has. but he doesn't have a floppy drive.
Can i run Ghost.exe using any other media other than a floppy drive???

and if i created a boot CD, what exactly would you advice me put on it? what are the utilities out there which i may find useful?

Many thanks in Advance.
