Don,

Are the drive letters for your optical drives missing?

Yes the drive letters are there and I did try rebooting.

My USB drives are also not working.

I'm using winxp home edition sp3.

Don,

I experienced this issue (Missing optical drives). I had no optical drive letters. It does resemble your problem. What do you think?.

http://aumha.org/regfiles.htm (see Restore missing CD drive).

Do you have a recent Ghost Recovery Point if nothing fixes your problem?

I would have immediately done a "System Restore".
That's exactly what it's for.

Cool
