It's of little value. The OS partition can't be restored.

Over the years, since first using Ghost in (about) 1997, I've evaluated just about every backup program that's come down the pike.
In one way or another, I've found almost every one of them seriously wanting.
Many just plain "Wet The Bed". Cry

When Ghost first came out, it was so far ahead of anything else on the market, that for years I was convinced it was written by little grey guys with large black eyes, from 'Out There' somewhere.

I retained that opinion till I discovered this forum and met Nigel Bree. Wink

I've been using Ghost, in one version or another, from the DOS days, to the latest Windows Vista 64. And, it just works, where others fail.

What are the major deficiencies that you have observed? For which products?

It is obvious that Shadow is biased to Ghost, and with good reason, but I will redirect you all to this posting that I made:

This software works exactly like Ghost, the major difference is that it also works across wireless networks as well which we all know, Ghost cannot and will not be able to do. Other than that, throughput, interface, skipfile selection, compression ratio, version compatibility......are all the same across the board.

Kick it down range and draw fire!

Suffice it to say that when I deem something of NO VALUE, I delete it and promptly forgetaboutit !
I don't keep a ledger of failed programs. Sad

But this quote from another thread pretty well tells the tail.

It's like those bogus Registry Cleaners that tell you that you have hundreds of problems in your registry, but they won't fix them till you buy the program. Can you say, "SCAM" ?? Angry

Well, a company has the right to define a “trial” as they deem appropriate. This is not a reflection on the functionality of the utility itself, nor does it indicate that the utility will “fail.” It hardly is a justification for the use of the term “scam,” which seems to be an extreme interpretation of the situation, in my opinion.
