I am interested in your results from running a speed test from the 8 locations provided here:
Interested in times during busier internet times than slower.
And where you live, of course. And time ran, such as (6:30 PM, PDT):
Seattle: 2.44 Mbps / 0.42 Mbps
SF: 2.15 / 0.42
LA: 0.23 / 0.43
Dallas 2.64 / 0.42
Chicago: 0.48 / 0.42
Atlanta: 0.47 / 0.41
NY: 1.58 / 0.42

So, those data points are: download in MB/s / upload in MB/s (MegaBytes/second)
(And not Mb/s -- Megabits/second)
Just trying to clarify.
Speed test.net has move than one server at many of those locations--some are faster than others depending on the test results at the time.

I am not sure but assumed that Mbps = bits and MBps = Bytes.
I saw variations, yes.
If they have different servers at each location capable of very different speeds, then the tests seem meaningless for comparative purposes, no?
If my connection is rated at say, 3 Mbps and I want to try to verify that, but I can only connect to a server with available bandwidth of 1 Mbps .. then that server seems (more or less) useless. No?
