Hi.

Thank you for your interest in Matrox RT2500. With regards to your inquiry,
this specific motherboard has not been tested as of yet. This does not mean
that it will not be compatible with the RT2500, but Matrox can only
guarantee that it will be compatible once we test it in house.

The following sections contain information on equipment that has been tested
for compatibility with the Matrox RT2500. Systems and devices are added on a
regular basis, so please check back often for the latest updates.

If this board is a Pentium 4 with an Intel 850 chipset (and from the web
page it says it is), only boards with the most recent version of the IntelŪ
850 chipset that contains the latest stepping of the IntelŪ 82801BA I/O
Controller Hub 2 (ICH2) are compatible with the RT2500.

For your convenience, we have put together a stand alone utility that will
test a specific IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 based system and let you know if its
IntelŪ 850 chipset is compatible for use with a Matrox RT2500 card.

This small utility is now available in the RT2500 download section of our
website, and can be run on any IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 based system, even if the
RT2500 is not installed
on that system. Once executed, this utility will check if your system
contains the most recent revision of the IntelŪ 850 chipset and report one
of the following conclusions:

1- Your Pentium IV system's chipset is compatible for use with a Matrox
RT2500 card.
This means that your system is equipped with the most recent version of the
IntelŪ 850 chipset that contains the latest stepping of the IntelŪ 82801BA
I/O Controller Hub 2 (ICH2), and should be compatible for use with the
Matrox RT2500 card. As always, please refer to our RT2500 System
Recommendation pages on our website for system-specific compatibility
information.

2- Your Pentium IV system's chipset is NOT compatible for use with a Matrox
RT2500 card.
This means that your system is equipped with an older version of the IntelŪ
82801BA I/O Controller Hub 2 (ICH2) and is therefore NOT compatible for use
with the Matrox RT2500 card. One option would be to contact your
motherboard/system manufacturer to see if it could be possible to replace
your motherboard with a more recent version that contains the latest
revision of the IntelŪ 82801BA I/O Controller Hub 2 (ICH2). Please contact
Intel for any questions regarding features and compatibility of the IntelŪ
82801 BA I/O Controller Hub 2.

The location of the utility is here on the web:

Here are some commonly asked questions concerning the use of the utility and
the PIV issue:
My P4 failed the test and it is not compatible with the RT2500, what do I
do?
You will need to contact your MB manufacturer and see if they can replace
the motherboard with a newer generation one.  More precisely, you need to
get a newer revision of your motherboard that contains the B-4 stepping
revision (or greater) of the IntelŪ 82801BA I/O Controller Hub 2 (which is
part of the 850 chipset).

Does the RT2000 work with P4?
The RT2000 is NOT AFFECTED by the Pentium 4 chipset compatibility issue
because it doesn't do high bandwidth CPU writes directly to a PCI device
like the RT2500.

Is Asus P4T compatible with RT2500:
We have not tested this motherboard yet, but you can find out by yourself if
you bring the test utility to your dealer and ask him to run it on that
motherboard before you buy it. You don't need to have the RT2500 installed
on your system in order to run the test utility.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
