Do CDs tire your ears?

I have some buddies who take their music seriously who all say that listening to CD music "wears out" their ears, while they can "listen to records all night long".  I hear similar things about digital vs. vacuum tube amps.  The story in both cases is too much high pitched transients that donot occur in analog music.  How do you all vote on this?

I've heard the arguments. It's ben so long since I've lestened to vinyl that I no longer have any point of reference.

You should post your question at either/both of these forums:

http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=5

http://r3mix.net/forum (this forum seems to be down now)

Both are visited by ppl who are fanatical about digital sound, and who know much more than I do. That's where I go when I have related questions.
