NTFS, Spanned CD-R Ghost Images, and Gh Explorer
Aug 14th, 2002 at 11:36am

I have four systems and one is a notebook (XP Pro).  While it has two partitions, I choose to image to CD-RW disks.  The C:\ partition is NTFS and the D:\ is FAT32.

When I did my first image of the NTFS partition, I read the pop-up note about requiring excessive media swaps to be able to read a NTFS partition in Ghost Explorer.  Thought I would give it a try.

After swapping CD's about 15 times to just load the image directory tree (and I didn't load it), I quit.  The message needs to read:

"You cannot use Ghost Explorer to read a spanned NTFS partition image".

Anybody else have any experience?  I'm assuming that doing a full image restore from my boot disk won't have similiar problems.  Right?

Thanks for any replies!
