I am trying to create a backup system for when we rebuild workstations in the office for clients.
I want to store an image of a workstation on a network drive and be able to extract files using Ghost Explorer.
This post is somewhat similar to what I am doing:
http://radified.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1238012369I have created a floppy using the image from here:
http://www.netbootdisk.com/Works well and includes alot of commonly used network drivers in our environment.
Ghost 8.3 executes from a network drive and runs fine. It detects both PATA and SATA drives without issues.
Took awhile for me to find the post on Norton's site that explains why it keeps breaking up the files into 2GB parts but that's not that big of an issue.
The issue I am having is with Ghost Explorer giving me ""Invalid Drive Details". This Probably isn't a Ghost Image file" when I try and open the image.
First time I tried this, the image was compressed, so I have tired it uncompressed a few times with the same results.
Can anyone shed some light on the subject?
Also, if anyone has a link to a GHOST/Windows PE/Network boot disk image or how to, that would be appreciated. I am still lurking around the forums in case someone has posted this in the past.
