making a ghost 2003 boot disk on floppy
Jun 11th, 2009 at 4:55pm

I know this is probably been asked a million times but i need help on this.  I have a gateway gt5012 desktop with 2 sata drives.  I only want to back up the C;/ drive image of it to an USB 2.0 external 1tb hard drive.  I am using Windows media center sp3.  I installed the latest build of ghost which is .793 and i have tried to create the disk but no go.  I need some help here and step by step would be appreciated.  Smiley

Without you telling us more about your computer, OS, etc., as is S.O.P., I'm having to just guess that you DO have a Floppy Disk Drive in your computer......right?

If you have Ghost 2003 installed on your hard drive, bring it up in Windows and look for the routine to make the DOS Boot Floppy.
I made mine so many years ago now that I don't remember all the details, but it sure wasn't hard.

I didn't like the DOS that Ghost put on that first boot floppy so I made another one, formatted in Windows ME.  It's a much better and more capable DOS.
Then I put Ghost.exe, Mouse.com and some other utilities and a few batch files and a DOS menu on the floppy and now I have a pretty useful Ghost boot disk.
I suppose that's not for everyone, but it sure works a treat for me. Wink

Good Luck Smiley
