Are you attempting to use *gdisk.exe* after booting to DOS?

Or, are you using the Windows based *gdisk32.exe* from within Windows?

When you boot to DOS and attempt to use a pure DOS based utility such as *gdisk.exe*, you might have to change a setting in the BIOS that effects whether the BIOS supports DOS access to a SATA HDD.  It's usually under a section that has to do with options for selecting the SATA controller *mode*--the DOS mode is often listed as *combined*, *combination*, or *compatibility* mode as opposed to *Native* SATA mode.

Depending on what you want after accessing the HDD in DOS and doing the wiping, if you plan on installing Windows--you might want to change the *mode* back to *Native*--it's apparently *optimized* to make things run faster in Windows--but doesn't allow access using old style DOS.

Any help?

Didn't want to try the BIOS setting changes?

Let us know how things go!
