Disable NTFS warning Norton Ghost Explorer
Jan 25th, 2010 at 3:34pm

Using Norton Ghost Explorer 2003 to extract files from spanned NTFS image
stored on an external hard drive.

I always get the warning dialog that opening spanned NTFS images:
"An NTFS partition is spanned over 4 segments of the image. Unless all
segments are available at once it may lead to excessive disk swapping. Do
you want to load the partition"

I am looking for a way to disable the message since I always want to open
it.

I have done a search for ghost explorer command line switches but am not
finding much info.

Thanks

I usually look for ways to disable intro splash screens when programs start during Windows loading or when you open a program--they're an unnecessary aggravation!

It's weird that the Ghost people programed the default behavior of Ghost Explorer to pop that message up every time an image file that has a NTFS partition on it--the only time the *disk swapping* will occur is if the spanned image files are not on a HDD in a single sub-directory (i.e. on multiple optical discs or if on two separate HDDs because the files would not fit on the available space on one HDD)--and a majority of the time most people put their images on a single HDD and in the same sub-directory!

They certainly could have programed Ghost Explorer to do a check to see if all the image segments are in one directory--but, they didn't!  And, I've never seen any way to change that behavior.

But, I don't open Ghost Explorer all that often--so it's not a big issue--I know I just have to click through that message....
