In response:
Yes, I did have a problem restoring a Ghost 11.5 backup image file, of a Windows 10, C: partition, to a new hard drive. So I used the Windows 10 Install disk to start a new install as far as letting it make all the necessary partitions, then I stopped the install and did my Ghost restore and that worked like a champ.
That install of Win-10, is on a separate HD installed here on my main desktop PC.
I'm using an SSD with Windows 7 Ultimate/32 right now, and I back it up and have done restores to it using my Ghost 11.5 on a CD/FD.
Once a week I also make a Clone of my SSD to a 2TB drive that I also have installed in my Desktop PC.
That's for just in case that the SSD takes a dump. I had a PNY SSD last summer, that did that, and restoring the cloned image of that drive to my new SanDisk SSD saved the day.
Regardless of what little work-arounds I might have to use, I still love Ghost 11.5 (DOS) the best.
Y'all have a great day now, Y'hear?
Cheers Mates!

Such a really GREAT program (Ghost 11.5) and so little interest.
Ghost 11.5 (DOS) will backup any OS from Windows 98 to Windows 10/64.
And it will boot up a PC and run, from any media that you can make bootable.
I have it on CD's, Flash Drives, and even an SD Memory (camera) Card.
It's nice to have my Backup/Restore program on bootable media, when my
main HD has CRASHED, and I need to restore to a new HD.

I'm running Windows 11/Pro/64 today, on a 100% incompatible PC, that is close to a decade old.
It runs just fine, after I burned the ISO to a flash drive, using Rufus 4.0. Rufus removes all the Microsoft Compatibility BS, and just leaves a really nice OS to be installed, and enjoyed.
But, even with the very latest 64 bit OS, I'm still making my weekly backups using Ghost 11.5, on a bootable Flash Drive.
Like forever, Ghost doesn't care what the OS is, or whether it's 32 bit or 64 bit. It just backs up one's and Zero's.
Some day, we'll have Windows 12, and I'm pretty sure that Ghost 11.5 will back that up, too.
Cheers Mates,
Casper
