if anyone is interested i will do an entire write up on it along with all the necessary config files and utilites needed.

Your efforts represents the *good stuff* that can benefit many--more and more folks are setting up small home networks--and this sound like just the thing to give a try for overseeing the computers on a network.

We await your posting!

Edit--7/29/2006:  It appears that the original author of this thread, jasmofo, deleted his initial posting--he has posted a reference to his efforts of creating a bootable CD that has the ability to autodetect multiple NIC network cards--see here:
Ghost BootDisk WIKI
.

His WIKE is here:
MultiNIC AutoDetect DOS Boot CD

jasmofo,

I think this will be a long and interesting thread. Is this site (NIC drivers) of any help to you?

if you like, i would be willing to host associated files on the 'downloads' page:

http://radified.com/Files/

long as you first remove the ghost executable, and any other copyrighted software, so we don't get in legal trouble.

I'm very very interested in this... I'm working on implementing a new image system-wide, with many different NICs installed throughout. Anything to make life easier would be great.

Is there any way that a mod or admin could send this guy an email, i could really use this disk, and dont want to repeat work that has already been done.

Thanks.

This is very helpful, and for those who are relatively new to ghost/imaging process the ghost.exe must be placed in the root directory.

ok, i have it where it will boot and get into dos. Reconizes everything, loads it up, and then i try to run ghost and i get an error.

If i put ghost.exe into the image, it wont boot, so i load the image, then put ghost on the cd.   Boot to Dos, change directory to c:\, then run ghost.exe.

This is the error i get.

double fault at eip=419; flags 3206

any help?

the boot disk loads the CDRom drive on drive letter R:  so you should be changing to that directory unless you changed what drive its on.

ghost.exe does not go in the image...it goes in the root of the CD.  so when you look at the CD contents in windows all it looks like thats on the CD is ghost.exe.

feel free to contact me if you need further help.
