Swimming Hole
Kern River,..
Limestone campground, Sequoia National Forest, southern
Sierras
elevation: ~4000-feet
We jumped in early in the morning before we left to return
home. It was cold!
During the day (hot in August: ~95 degrees F), the water is perfect.
You can leap off those rocks and make a big splash.
Lots of inner-tubers come down this (tame) section of the river.
Inner-tubes can be purchased a few miles down the road for ~$12.
Because Limestone is the
uppermost campsite, this section of the
Kern river is the cleanest.
